Gay Marriage becomes legal: OnePlusOne comments on the landmark occasion

26 March 2014

The first UK gay marriage is due to take place at one minute past midnight on March 29 in Brighton.

Andrew Wale and Neil Allard beat 11 couples to be chosen to be the first to wed at the Royal Pavilion and many others will follow.

Our deputy director of innovation, Jan Mitcheson, commented: “This is a landmark day and it has been a long time in coming.

“it’s important gay people have equality and recognition.

“Marriage is an important sign of commitment and a future together, and of course a legal status, but it isn’t the only marker of a great relationship.

“It’s the little things that sustain partnerships, a kindness, thinking the best of one another, listening and talking, being there for your partner and caring – that’s what makes relationships thrive.”
