Left out: How young dads access services in North East London

By OnePlusOne, 02 March 2016 Children, Fathers, New parents, Parenting, Transitions

Although the numbers of teenage pregnancies in Britain have fallen to the lowest level since records began, many young parents and especially young fathers can find themselves left out in terms of services and support. This report engaged with young dads in North East London to find out about their experiences of ante and postnatal services.

A number of pitfalls in service accessibility, access to information and young father engagement are identified in the report. Key recommendations for improvement are set out to address the changes the Young Dads Collective would like to see for dads that are currently being left out and how support for dads should mirror that of mothers.
