A new vision for children’s centres

The Relationships Alliance, in partnership with the Centre for Social Justice, hosted a debate at the Conservative Party Conference yesterday (5 October 2015) on the proposed changes to Children’s Centres.

The government is about to issue a consultation reviewing the purpose and scope of Children’s Centres and there have been proposals to turn them into Family and Relationship Hubs, providing the range of support for children, families and couples, supporting healthy relationships and, when necessary, encouraging people to seek help earlier and sign-posting to the resources available.

You can read our briefing document here, which sets out the case for Family and Relationship Hubs and provides short case studies on the changes that could be incorporated and how they might benefit families, couples and the wider community.
