In addition to informing couples about existing Marriage Preparation Courses, from June this year all Registrars in England and Wales will be directing couples to use thecoupleconnection.net via posters and leaflets.

This will be an innovative new way of delivering marriage preparation resources - the ‘Making a Commitment' section of the site has been written specifically to help couples work through changes and improve the way they manage their relationship.

The new section has been specifically written for couples who are about get married, but it also useful for those who are about to have a baby or move in together. To view the content on Making a Commitment click here.

One Plus One and the Muslim Education Forum have been working on a project delivering My Mum and Dad Argue A Lot training to a group of their practitioners. The training took place this month and we are currently processing feedback from this group. We also held an open My Mum and Dad Argue A Lot training session here at One Plus One. We had 15 attendees from a variety of organisations and practice settings. The feedback has been very positive and we hope to hold future sessions.

One Plus One will be supporting the Kids in the Middle Campaign which will be helping parents to care for their children harmoniously and to avoid conflict. The campaign will be making resources available to parents who have separated or are going through a separation, for parents who are living together, for parents when a baby is born and for young people. For more information about the campaign click here.

informing - creating imaginative formats for key messages tailored to different audiences, and raising awareness of the impact of couple relationships on the well being of individuals, families and communities;
innovating - developing innovative ways of getting specialist knowledge and skills about adult family relationships and early intervention to everyone working in the frontline with families, thereby adding value to existing practice.
