Perinatal pilots – relationship education for expectant parents

Who we worked with:

Midwives and health visitors across the country.

Short summary:

The perinatal pilot projects were launched in 2015 with the objective of testing the effectiveness of providing relationship education within antenatal and postnatal classes and visits that expectant parents already undertake. We included a psycho-educative perinatal relationship package for parents.

What we achieved:

Health visitors and midwives were taught to deliver the relationship information using bespoke resources such as video clips, relationship insights and group activities. The pilot schemes developed into our successful training programme for practitioners ‘Me, You and Baby Too’. You can find more information in our Professionals training section. If you are an expectant parent looking for relationship information, please see Skills on this website.
