Building effective relationships: the art and science of meaningful connection and how to put it into practice
A hybrid approach to training, combining in-person interactive workshops with theory and practice-based training for frontline practitioners.
Welcome to OnePlusOne's brand-new training course: Relational capability. We're thrilled to introduce this innovative and interactive programme, designed to develop an empowered, modern, skilled workforce and transform your approach to building effective relationships.
At OnePlusOne, we recognise the critical role local authorities play in shaping communities and enriching lives. The key to success lies in cultivating strong, meaningful connections between support workers and families.
What is Relational capability training?
Our universally targeted training programme delves deep into the theory and practice of building effective relationships. It's not just about acquiring skills; it's about mastering the art and science of forging genuine connections and putting them into practice.
In today's world, nurturing healthy and productive relationships is more relevant than ever. Stronger relationships between professionals and the people they work with lead to better outcomes for all parties involved.
Our Relational capability training is an evidence-based programme, which allows practitioners to explore and practice core skills, and understand the relational processes that lead to effective helping interactions. Reflective practice is a core element of the programme.
Who is this training for?
Our training course caters to family hubs, children's centres, early help, all social care professionals, and similar-level frontline practitioners. It stands independently from our licensed RPC package and other training. This interactive training is not limited to family and parenting practitioners; it's relevant to anyone in a support worker-service user relationship.
How is the training delivered?
The training is delivered through a hybrid approach, combining both face-to-face and remote elements.
On the first day, participants engage in a focused theory and skills workshop in a face-to-face setting. The second-day workshop and half-day reflective practice sessions are conducted remotely.
We strive to maintain an effective learning environment, with the initial face-to-face component allowing for immersive learning, followed by the convenience of remote delivery.
