Relationships Unplugged: Introducing OnePlusOne’s new podcast

We're delighted to announce the launch of Relationships Unplugged, a brand-new podcast from OnePlusOne exploring the science behind our relationships.

Bringing together the latest relationship research with honest conversations and real-life experiences, the series looks at why relationships matter, how they shape our lives, and what we can all do to build stronger connections.

Whether you're interested in dating, friendships, family relationships or long-term partnerships, Relationships Unplugged unpacks the evidence behind why we behave the way we do and what helps relationships thrive.

What you can expect

Each episode explores questions that affect us all, including:

  • Why do we act the way we do in relationships?
  • How do our life experiences shape the way we connect with others?
  • What does your conflict style reveal about you?
  • How has dating changed over the years?
  • What do Gen Z really think about dating, marriage and commitment?
  • Why does nurturing our relationships really matter?

Drawing on the latest research alongside personal reflections and practical discussion, the podcast makes relationship science accessible, engaging and relevant to everyday life.

Meet your hosts

The podcast is hosted by Sereena Vaja, OnePlusOne's Research and communications officer, and Professor Janet Reibstein, psychologist, author and long-standing OnePlusOne Clinical consultant.

Sereena first joined OnePlusOne's research team during her second year at university and now helps communicate evidence-based relationship insights to wider audiences.

Janet has worked with OnePlusOne for more than 20 years and is Professor Emerita in the School of Psychology at the University of Exeter. She is also the author of Good Relations: Cracking the Code of How to Get on Better, which explores how we can develop the skills to build healthier relationships.

Bringing together perspectives from across the generations, Sereena and Janet discuss what the evidence tells us, challenge common relationship myths, and explore what really helps people get on better.
