Relational Capability training

Build stronger connections in your practice.

What is Relational Capability training?

OnePlusOne’s relational capability framework brings over 50 years of relationship research into your workplace. The course is designed for anyone who works with others, helping you to explore the practical skills, understanding, and confidence , you need to build better relationships.

Why relational capability matters

Relationships are vital to our physical and mental health. In fact, there is very strong evidence showing that good-quality relationships can help people to live longer and happier lives. Despite this, it has never been harder to connect with others, especially in the workplace.

When you develop the skills to really connect with others and build genuine trust, the impact can change both your life and theirs. Relational capabilitytraining gives you the confidence to work relationally, no matter the context, strengthening your workplace and supporting positive outcomes for the people you work with.

Impact

What you’ll learn

Relational Capability training gives you the confidence to work relationally, no matter the context. You’ll know which skills to use, when to use them, and how to adapt them to any situation. It’s the difference between feeling like you’re doing the right thing and knowing you are, because you’re following evidence-backd methods.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

Lead positive interactions and create safe environments that support effective outcomes.

Have more effective interactions with clients and service users.

Develop greater confidence and self-awareness.

Use skills such as emotional competence, collaborative communication, mentalisation, and rupture-and-repair.

Who it’s for

While this training can be helpful for any workplace to partake in, we feel it is best suited for supportive roles in environments such as:

  • Family hubs

  • Children’s centres

  • Early help teams

  • Social care

  • Healthcare

  • Prison and drug abuse services

Whether you support families, deliver services, or manage staff, relational capability skills can help you handle complex interactions with greater confidence and empathy.
