Evaluation reports

Everything we do is grounded in evidence. On this page you can find evaluation reports for OnePlusOne’s research and innovation projects.

These reports detail the development, delivery, and evaluation of recent and ongoing projects as well as practical guidance for future work and best practice.

Me, You and Baby Too

Working in partnership with Best Beginnings, OnePlusOne were commissioned by the DWP Challenge Fund to develop and pilot a digital resource to help disadvantaged couples reduce conflict over the transition to parenthood.

The final product was a digital behaviour change intervention call Me, You and Baby Too. It used BMT videos, interactives, and psychoeducation to develop users’ awareness of the impact of a new baby on the couple relationship and their capacity to cope while managing conflict constructively. Me, You and Baby Too was delivered as a universal offer through the Baby Buddy app and as a supported offer through trained family support workers.

Me, You and Baby Two phase two

Between April and December 2020, we designed phase two of Me, You and Baby Too building on learning from phase one. We developed an extended training offer to a wider range of health practitioners using a digital practitioner guide, and created two new animations to teach parents more complex communication and conflict resolution skills. We also explored how the Covid-19 pandemic affected use of Me, You and Baby Too.

Reducing Parental Conflict: community of practice

Between 2021 and 2024 we brought practitioners together in a community of practice to discuss the rollout of the Reducing Parental Conflict (RPC) package, focusing on the OnePlusOne digital interventions and training. These sessions provided an opportunity for practitioners to share their successes and learn from each other on difficult areas.

The report documents learning from these sessions over the course of 3.5 years summarising the work that local authorities have been doing in rolling out RPC pathways, outlining best practice and barriers to delivery.

Reducing Parental Conflict: outcome data

Between 2021 and 2026 parents using Me, You and Baby Too, Arguing Better, and Getting it Right for Children completed pre- and post-test measures of relationship and individual wellbeing, and responded to qualitative questions about what they have learned from the interventions. This document summarises the impact of OnePlusOne’s three digital behaviour change interventions on parents’ relationships and individual wellbeing, across England and Wales.

Reducing Parental Conflict in Wales

OnePlusOne was commissioned by the Welsh government to support local authorities to roll out a suite of evidence-based early intervention resources and professional training.

Through the Reducing Parental Conflict in Wales (RPC in Wales) programme 41 practitioners from 21 local authorities in Wales received further training using a Train the Trainer model. These practitioners were tasked with equipping practitioners in their local authorities to share the digital resources with families. The digital package comprised three resources: Me, You and Baby Too, Arguing Better, and Getting it Right for Children, designed to support healthy relationships, develop conflict resolution and communication skills, and improve relational capability.

Parents and alcohol

In collaboration with Tavistock Relationships and Adfam, OnePlusOne developed and piloted a multi-stream programme to reduce problematic alcohol use and interparental conflict through digital behaviour change resources, face-to-face couple therapy, and an upskilled workforce.

The project aimed to improve outcomes for children in families affected by interparental conflict in the context of alcohol dependence, by enabling parents to find new ways of managing disagreements, thereby reducing couple conflict and alcohol dependency.

See it differently

Between 2019 and 2020, OnePlusOne and Good Things Foundation were funded by the DWP Reducing Parental Conflict Challenge Fund to develop and pilot digital content grounded in Behaviour Modelling Training (BMT). The videos were designed to help parents identify and reduce conflict in their relationship, and the project explored the effectiveness of different approaches to sharing the content with parents.

See it differently consisted of four BMT-lite videos alongside a project website, and a relationship conversations training programme.
