Getting on Better

A complete package for family hubs

About the Getting on Better package

The Getting on Better package is a suite of evidence-based resources designed to help Family Hubs give every child the best start in life. Because getting on better with each other means getting on better in life.

Helping parents and families to get on better

Children’s early years are shaped by relationships – the relationships they have with their parents, and the relationships their parents have with each other.

One of the key targets for the Family Hubs and Start for Life programme is for 75% of children to be school-ready. For family hubs to achieve this goal, it’s crucial that the parental relationship is given due care.

Why? Because parents who get on better are better equipped to support their children to develop the social and emotional skills they need to build a bright future at school and beyond.
