Janet Reibstein, the leading psychologist and author of Good Relations: Cracking the code of how to get on better,’ is joining the OnePlusOne team to support our mission to empower people with good relational skills.

Janet worked with OnePlusOne previously during our early work on relational capability, and cites the charity as being key in helping to develop, advance and evidence the ideas she presents in her book.

We’re delighted to welcome Janet back as an associate to help us further our research and development of relational capability resources to help people develop the skills they need to get on better.

Verity Glasgow, CEO of OnePlusOne, said: “Janet’s book, Good Relations: Cracking the code of how to get on better, aligns perfectly with our goals and reflects much of the research and evidence base OnePlusOne has studied over the years to develop its relational capability framework.

“The ability to forge meaningful connections is a skill that everyone can learn by mastering how to communicate constructively, listen well and develop empathy. The quality of our relationships has a direct impact on our health and many other aspects of our life, so it’s only right that people are given the support they need to develop and maintain them, just as they would to take care of their physical health.

“Over recent years, OnePlusOne has further developed the evidence base and resources available to help people with their relationships, both at home and at work. I’m delighted to welcome Janet back on board to work with us on extending the reach of these important life skills even further.”

Household names have applauded Janet’s work, with Claudia Winkleman describing her book as, “Utterly fantastic” and Gwyneth Paltrow calling it, “Truly life-changing.”

Speaking about becoming a OnePlusOne associate, Janet said: “Research shows that good relationships are a key ingredient to thriving at life, and impact areas of our life we place great importance on, such as health and wellbeing, happiness and financial security. From my work as a psychologist, I know that learning the skills required to have good relationships can make a powerful, positive difference to lives.

“OnePlusOne has been groundbreaking in its innovative approach to taking relationship research and applying it to create resources that really make a difference. I’m delighted to be working with the team again to further their work to help everyone have access to the knowledge and skills they need to make and maintain positive relationships.”
